Di Lenardo TOH da Uve Friulano 2011, Italy, 13% alc.

A lovely, smooth and elegant white wine from the far northeast region of Italy. Subtle aromas of grass, citrus and peach with soft, well-rounded flavours of melon and a fruitiness usually associated with Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. It is made entirely from Tocai Friulano grape, harvested from a single vineyard. There’s a touch of oakiness in there, which is pleasant, and each sip ends in a long, refined finish with a hint of stone fruit and minerality. An excellent  aperitif. With food it is best with grilled poultry, shellfish and fish cooked in any style except with a tomato sauce. Drink at 12° C. before the end of 2015.
