Paragadi Seafood Restaurant
Reviewed by Mateo Jarrin Cuvi
Paragadi, a family-owned establishment, has been serving Nicosia since 1963 and is considered to be the city’s oldest fish tavern. Like Pyxida Fish Tavern, Paragadi is frequented by politicians, business people and local celebrities and the photographs of illustrious visitors (Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Former US President Jimmy Carter, for instance) that hang on the restaurant’s walls attest to its popularity. What is remarkable about Paragadi’s menu is the inclusion of several dishes which are rarely found in other fish taverns; Spanish paella, shrimp and salmon kebab, and a myriad of cold seafood salads add an innovative touch to the assortment of traditionally grilled or fried fish and seafood. Overall, a classy tavern with an eclectic range of seafood appetizers and main dishes.
