Rosé 2011 Tsangarides Winery, Lemona, Paphos, 13.5% alc.
This may be the best of the 7 wines the Tsangarides family produces. It is not as easily found in cavas as those of some other wineries, but it is worth seeking out. Another good value-for-money rosé, this one made exclusively from Shiraz, it boasts a lush mouthfeel and pronounced acidity (almost effervescent), which increases its thirst-quenching capabilities. In general, it exhibits a bit more character than many rosés and never lets you forget that it’s made from Shiraz, one of the most charming and delicious of the red varietals. A Silver Medal winner at the 2012 Cyprus Wine Competition.
